Common mistake Shall vs Will

Rule number 1.Traditional rule
Shall is used with the first person pronouns (I and we) to form the future tense, while Will is used with the second and third person forms (i.e. you, he, she, it, they). For example: Sorry I shall be late today.

Correct:

  • Shall we go to the cinema this weekend?
  • Will you come with me to the cinema?
  • Shall I buy you lunch?
